Yayoi Kusama Exhibition at Victoria Miro

Courant as for "current", our statement is an open wide approach to the world where inspirations, interests and miscellaneous bring today's great crowd!

It's been a while since we wanted to check out the amazing work of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

Her craft became well known by the mid-1960s in the avant-garde world for her provocative happenings and exhibitions.

Since this time, Kusama's have worked on multiple installations, paintings, collages with a notable exposure in fashion with Louis Vuitton and a George Clooney photoshoot wearing Kusama's signature polka dots.

The exhibition is running from May 25, 2016 – July 30, 2016 at the Victoria Miro Gallery and is free admission. A lovely gallery located by the wharf of Islington. It's a really short walking distance from Angel or Shoreditch. If it happens to be sunny (we have a bloody "so called" summer here in London) you should get a walk by the canal side!

The exhibition is quiet small, very coordinated but worth it. It's also busy even on weekdays so be prepared...

We went to check out the first installation called the Narcissus Garden : 873 stainless steel spheres floating in a pond : a certain luxe, calme et volupté. The exhibition continues with 5 other installations, we don't want to spoil the fun, it will take you 30 to 45 mins to visit all the lovely installations - you will enjoy using your phone inside the mirror boxes for your instagram followers (don't lose time you will have 20 secs exactly).

What people forget is that an exhibition is a place where you can actually circulate - don't get stuck in to the first queue, move around there's an upper floor and outside space.

Kusama's work has been one of our true inspiration at Courant HQ especially since we designed a cosmic pattern along Ben Montero's Artworks such as you will find on our limited edition All Over Print Galactic T-shirt .

Our goal is to bring vibrant, pop, highly wearable and colourful designs - a retro-super-futuristic modernist label
